Oh , how many memories this wonderful painting evokes R/ W Bob. But before I get lost in what was, I want to say that this picture appears almost multi dimensional as if I'm right there inside it. The perspective is simply marvelous and so is the mood and the dancing areas of light. Actually I'm not going to bore you with my memories after all! Just want to be present with this. I think it must be one of my all time favorites of your paintings. You have captured the magical combination of magic and melancholy that is Venice so perfectly. Yes, this is the true, real Venice, Bob. The sense of intimacy and quiteness you achieved in this painting speaks to me most. I hear only the "splash - splash" sound of the water ... The light contributes also to that feeling of quiteness. And also the composition with the wall of the house in the right foreground . Gorgeous work. FL
