Morro Bay is one of the few unspoiled seaside areas left in California. In southern Cali, there are so many people that when you head to the beach, you have to bring your own sand. It's different in central Cali. The climate is cooler for sure, but you can come closer to the experience of natural California without all the people. Not far north of this rock, you can walk out onto beaches completely without any buildings or people. Just natural California. This work is an effort to capture the atmosphere of Morro Bay, one of the last remaining classic California beach towns.
R. W. Goetting is a third generation Californian born in Sacramento who has painted scenes from California and around the world for nearly forty years.
