Queen duvet cover (88" x 88") featuring the image "The Redentore" by R W Goetting. Our soft microfiber duvet covers are hand sewn and include a hidden zipper for easy washing and assembly. The Redentore began as a feast - held on the day of the Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer - to give thanks for the end of the terrible plague of 1576, which killed 50,000 people, including the great painter Tiziano Vecellio (Titian). Actually, according to the account of Georgio Vasari in the great book "The lives of artists", he contracted it from his wife. The Redentore is held in July, and of course, for me, anything that involves water, boats and pyrotechnics is something I am drawn to like a moth to a flame. I just aimed at the motion, light and excitement of it all and went from there.

R/W Bob,I want to use a rare phrase for an old fashioned person like me and say "this work rocks" !! It rocks with emotion,energy and color. It also paradoxically encompasses a sense of melancholy,something about the muted lemon shades maybe does that.The title and history is an education to me. I did not know of this feast day. I often get this feeling that I'm sensing from your wonderful painting when I see crowds cheering the election of a new president or government. The end of the old and in with the new. Yet, there is a kind of recognition alongside the excitement that really when it all dies down,the same old cycles will continue in different forms.It leaves me marveling at how you have so masterfully created this bright and beautiful moment, wonderfully "felt" and communicated.
